Marriage of St Osyth to Dr Thomas Wood

On July 24th 1924 at Wormingford Parish Church, Miss M St Osyth Mahala Smith, OBE daughter of Mr T Eustace Smith and Mrs Smith of Wormingford Grove was married to Thomas Wood MA. D.Mus son of the late Captain Wood and Mrs Wood of Barrow-on-Furness. Only near relatives were present at the wedding. The bride was given away by her father. She was attired in dress of............................and she also wore a black hat with ........................

She carried a boquet of pale pink roses and wore a string of coral sand .......... Hajak`s ...........


The bridesmaid Miss Gwendoline Pearl Younghusband niece of the bride- wore a coral pink shaparole dress. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and wore a platinum and pearl *** in the form of a bunch of grapes, the gift of the bridegroom

The best man was Mr Michael M*** of Oxford. The officiating Clergy were the Rev F Farmer (possibly Farrier) tenants of the bride and the Rev W M Aldsett(possibly Abbott)
A reception was held afterwards at Wormingford Grange
The presents included a silver salva from the ** Lexden and Winstree Board of Governors to which body Miss Eustace Smith was the first lady *** to be elected
